A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY ART
Artist Statement
I find solace and self-expression through my artwork. Being a shy person, I often struggle to verbalize my emotions and thoughts. However, through the medium of art, I can convey my innermost feelings in a way that words cannot fully capture.
I have a deep appreciation for organic shapes that represent the essence of life itself. My preferred style of painting is abstract, allowing me to explore these shapes in nature and unleash my creativity onto the canvas.
Using bold color, expressive lines, and layers, my goal is to capture the nature of my subjects while still maintaining a sense of balance and harmony. Drawing influence from Matisse and Picasso, I often combine elements of abstraction and representation to create a unique and visually engaging experience for the viewer.
I enjoy diving into a series of paintings that revolve around a particular theme, allowing me to fully immerse myself in its intricacies. Once I feel satisfied with the exploration of that subject, I eagerly move on to other themes, expanding my artistic horizons and embracing new challenges.
I hope to spark curiosity and inspire others to see the world from a fresh perspective. Each stroke of my brush is an invitation to venture into the realm of imagination where the shy finds their voice and the art speaks volumes.
Biography
Laura was Born and raised in the picturesque landscapes of the Great Northwest. She currently resides in sunny San Diego, California, where she has chosen to retire and dedicate herself to her passion for art. The delightful weather and scenic beauty of Southern California serve as constant sources of inspiration for her artwork.
With a diverse range of design skills, she has explored various artistic avenues, from creating lampshades to crafting intricate cabinetry. However, it was during her pursuit of a degree in industrial illustration that she realized her true calling lay in the realm of fine art and painting.

Through these experiences, she came to discover that abstract painting resonated deeply within her and became the true love of her artistic life.
In her art, she strives to capture the essence of emotions, thoughts, and experiences, translating them onto canvas through the language of abstraction. By employing bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and unconventional forms, she seeks to create a visual dialogue that invites viewers to delve into their own interpretations and reflections.
